Seneca Golf Course

Park-style golf on the highest ground in Cuyahoga County since 1940, known for long par 4s and 5s. Arnold Palmer called it a good testing course.

About Seneca Golf Course

Seneca sits on 350 acres at the highest point in Cuyahoga County, in Broadview Heights, and it has been open since August 1, 1940. It's a park-style layout known for long par 4s and par 5s. The one people bring up is Furnace Run's 8th, a 603-yard par 5 into the prevailing wind with a pond waiting to the right of the green. Arnold Palmer's verdict, which the Metroparks still quotes: "It's a good testing course."

The City of Cleveland ran it until 2011, when Cleveland Metroparks took over and began rebuilding it nine holes at a time. Three nines were done first; the last one, Back A, closed in fall 2024, a new driving range opened in summer 2025, and as of July 2026 the final nine was nearly finished, bringing it back to a full 36 holes. There are five sets of tees, so the long holes don't have to play long.

The Metroparks' pace target is 4 1/2 hours for 18. The Back Nine Grille does burgers, dogs and fries, and single-rider Solorider carts are available at the regular cart fee for golfers with disabilities.
