Mercer Oaks has two very different 18s, and East is the links-style one; the West is the traditional, tree-lined course. East is big from the back: 7,182 yards, par 72, a 74.2 rating and 131 slope from the black tees. The second hole is a 580-yard par 5 and the 18th a 620-yard par 5, the 6th is a 465-yard par 4 that the card rates the hardest hole, and the 8th is a 225-yard par 3. There are seven sets of tees, down to 5,212 from the reds, so moving up is easy.

Course directories credit Brian Ault and Dan Schlegel with the design and date it to 2003. It sits in Mercer County Park, whose farmland was assembled in the late 1960s and early 1970s; Lake Mercer, dug out by selling its gravel to the I-95 and I-295 builders, is now the U.S. Olympic rowing team's training center.

The Park Commission runs it tight: the scorecard's pace chart has you finished in 4 hours 12 minutes, no fivesomes, and if you stop for lunch at the turn you lose your spot and have to see the starter. Both courses are open year round, weather permitting. The practice area has a 260-yard range with 19 mats and a grass tee on Tuesdays, Thursdays and weekends, plus a putting green and practice bunker, and the Grill Room has a covered patio.

Booking a tee time at Mercer Oaks East Golf Course

Mercer County members book 7 days ahead and everyone else 5, with a 24-hour cancellation policy. As posted in September 2026, a regular 18 is $36 on weekdays and $40 on weekends for members, and $66 and $72 for non-members; carts are $20 and pull carts $6, and carts have to be back at the clubhouse by sunset. Out-of-county memberships are sold only in person. The golf shop is 609-936-1383.
