About Wildcreek Golf Course

Wildcreek used to be Washoe County's course. In the fall of 2021 the county commissioners voted unanimously to hand it to First Tee Northern Nevada, the deed was signed in July 2022, and the youth golf nonprofit has made it its permanent home. Mazz Golf Management runs the day-to-day, and it's open to the public.

First Tee broke ground in January 2025 on a rebuild paid for partly by the county's sale of land for the new Procter R. Hug High School. The first piece, the renovated executive nine, reopened on April 16, 2026. Every hole is a par 3, built with new players in mind, and it now has concrete cart paths. Some holes, like No. 6, got shorter, and others got longer or harder.

More is coming. A brand-new nine-hole championship course with longer yardage was due to open in July 2026, followed by a short-game area, a 1.5-acre putting green, a multi-tier driving range, a learning center, a restaurant and a golf shop. First Tee says Washoe County has lost 99 holes of public golf since 2006, which is a big part of why it wanted a course of its own.
