About Chandler Park Golf Course
Chandler Park has been a City of Detroit course since July 1929, just off I-94 on the east side, and it was renovated in 1999. It's a par 71 that tops out around 6,000 yards, with the forward tees just over 4,500, so it's the quick, easy-to-get-around round in the Golf Detroit group. The fairways roll and the greens have real contour, and Troon pitches it as a place for beginners and for anyone who wants to sharpen their iron play.
The ground itself is flat, with only about 5 feet between the high and low points in the map survey, but it isn't wide open: trees line 16 of the 18 holes, water sits near seven, and there are about 53 bunkers, with five doglegs. Course character from OpenStreetMap contributors' survey data.
It's busy with leagues and outings, and the course says it has some of the best greens around. There's a big practice putting green for chipping and putting before you go off. Troon, through Indigo Sports, took over running Detroit's three city courses in 2024.
It's one of 161 courses Yoink watches in the Detroit area, and the closest alternative is St. Clair Shores Golf Club, about 10 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
