About Pinehills Golf Club-Jones Course
The Jones course is the Rees Jones half of Pinehills Golf Club, the daily-fee club between Boston and Cape Cod, and it shares 300 acres of glacially carved ground with the Nicklaus Design course next door. Jones and co-designer Steve Weisser opened it in 2001 on what the firm calls a hilly, sandy site, and they let the land do the work: native ridges, valleys and natural hazard spots, the way the old New England courses were built. The 14th is the clearest example, playing along one of those natural ridges.
It stretches from 5,388 to 7,175 yards over five sets of tees, so there's a real choice of length. The map survey shows trees along 17 of the 18 holes, 56 bunkers, nine doglegs (six of them to the left), water near only two holes, and about 60 feet between the high and low points. It's a pine-framed, sand-and-slope test more than a water course. Course character from OpenStreetMap contributors' survey data.
Rates include a cart and range balls, and the practice ground is a big part of the visit: Pinehills calls it the most extensive practice facility in New England, and the Pinehills Golf Academy runs PGA lessons and clinics there. The East Bay Grille is in the clubhouse for after the round.
It's one of 6 courses in Plymouth on Yoink, and Pinehills Golf Club - Nicklaus Course is practically next door — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
