About Tates Creek Golf Course

Tates Creek is Lexington's par-72 municipal course, 6,260 yards on 125 acres in the middle of the Gainesway subdivision. It's not long, but the city describes tight fairways and sloping greens, so the test is keeping it in play and staying below the hole. Water only comes in on two holes.

It opened in 1958 as a private country club out in the countryside, designed by Buck Blankenship, a Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame member, according to a local golf blog.
