About Mariah Hills Golf Course
Mariah Hills is Dodge City's municipal course, a Frank Hummel design set out on the high plains: rolling bluegrass fairways, tall native rough along the edges, and a par of 71. Dodge City Community College says it makes you hit just about every club in the bag, and the Conquistador men's and women's teams practice here and host the odd tournament.
It didn't start this way. Mariah Hills began as an 18-hole sand-green course, and the course itself dates the turn to 1974, when bent grass greens and fairway irrigation went in. It was good enough by 2004 and 2005 to host the NJCAA Division I national tournaments.
It's a full setup for a muni: a Class A PGA professional, a pro shop, a driving range and putting green, a short-game area, private lessons, a snack bar and a banquet room. Leagues fill the weeknights, with two-man match play on Tuesdays, four-man teams on Wednesdays and the ladies' league on Mondays.

It's open daily, weather permitting, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. in summer and 9 to 5 in winter. Soft spikes only.
