About Pasfield Golf Course
Pasfield is the Springfield Park District's short nine: par 34, 2,299 yards from the whites and 1,934 from the reds. Don't let the length fool you. The course itself warns that the narrow fairways, undulating hills and small greens will test you, and the white-tee record is 26.
The ground has been a golf course since 1898, when a group of local businessmen founded it as The Springfield Golf Club. The park district took the property over in the early 1930s and renamed it Pasfield. Nobody knows who designed it; the district lists the designer as unknown. It's a league course as much as anything, with ladies' mornings and a Wednesday evening couples league, plus a snack bar and pro shop.
It's one of 4 courses in Springfield on Yoink, and the closest alternative is The Rail Golf Course, about 2 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
