About Brazell's Creek Golf Course

Brazell's Creek is the Georgia State Parks course at Jack Hill State Park, outside Reidsville in Tattnall County. It plays as two different courses stitched together. The original holes are tree-lined, with greens Denis Griffiths recontoured when he built the new 18-hole layout. Then a 1,500-yard winding bridge carries you out to a links-style nine on open, windswept ground, where the wind has more say than the trees.

From the tips it's 6,821 yards at par 71, with a 72.0 rating and 130 slope, and there are five sets of tees, so you can pick a sensible length. The hole the park itself singles out is the 15th, a 207-yard par 3 that carries wetlands to a large, undulating island green. Take enough club.

The course started as a nine-holer and was later upgraded to 18. The park was called Gordonia-Alatamaha until 2020, when it was renamed for the late state senator Jack Hill, who helped bring the expanded course there. There's also an 18-hole FootGolf course, open after noon with a tee time.

It's one of 11 courses Yoink watches in the Augusta area, and the closest alternative is WILLOW LAKE GOLF CLUB, INC, about 22 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
