About Okeeheelee Golf Course
Okeeheelee is Palm Beach County's big public facility: three nines that opened in 1995 and play as three different 18-hole combinations, each a par 72. It's busy, with an estimated 80,000 rounds a year, and it's open every day of the year, weather permitting.
The site is about 210 acres, 179 of them golf and 24 of them lakes, so plan on water. On the nine the map survey covers, water is in play on all nine holes, with five forced carries, and the ground rises only about 4 feet from low point to high. It's flat Florida golf where the lakes and the angles do the work. Course character from OpenStreetMap contributors' survey data.
Every hole has five tees, so it works for a wide range of players. The bunkers were redone in 2007, and the greens were regrassed with TifEagle in 2008-09 and again in 2020 and 2021. Audubon International made it a Certified Sanctuary in 2008. The practice setup is big for a public course: a range, three putting greens, five practice bunkers and a chipping green.
It's one of 2 courses in West Palm Beach on Yoink, and the closest alternative is Palm Beach National Golf Course, about 2 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
