Lost Key Golf Club

Arnold Palmer Design Group rebuilt it on Perdido Key in 2006 with paspalum tee to green. The first Florida course to earn Audubon Silver Signature status.

About Lost Key Golf Club

Lost Key sits on Perdido Key, between downtown Pensacola and the beaches at Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. It's a par 71 with five sets of tees on every hole, from 6,690 yards at the Black tees down to 4,137 at the Orange (Golf Guide, 2020). The ground is flat and wet: the map survey finds water on 10 holes, five of them with carries, and about 51 bunkers, which Golf Guide calls deep and penal. Course character from OpenStreetMap contributors' survey data.

The course first opened in 1997, and the Arnold Palmer Design Group redesigned it in 2006, putting Sea Dwarf paspalum on everything from tees through greens. It was the first course in Florida certified as an Audubon International Silver Signature Sanctuary. Two holes to know: the 4th, a 292-yard par 4 that doglegs left with water on both sides and behind the green, drivable if you can carry about 240; and the 17th, the longest par 4 at 430 yards from the Blue tees, with the longest carry on the course and a small green split by a ridge.

It's a member club that's also open to the public and resort guests. After the round, Grille 625 in the new clubhouse has indoor and outdoor seating looking over the course.

It's one of 24 courses Yoink watches in the Gulf Shores & Pensacola area, and the closest alternative is Perdido Bay Golf Club, about 2 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
