Boomerang Links

A 1991 city links course with tall native grass, big greens and more than 50 bunkers. It has hosted a local U.S. Open qualifier.

About Boomerang Links

Boomerang is the City of Greeley's links course, open since 1991. Think open ground rather than tree-lined corridors: firm, plush fairways, large greens, tall native grass waiting off the edges, and more than 50 bunkers. Keep it out of the tall stuff and it's a fair day; spray it and you'll spend time looking.

It's a regular host for serious golf in Northern Colorado. The city lists a local U.S. Open qualifier, a USGA Junior Amateur qualifier, the boys' and girls' high school regional and state championships and the Big I Junior Championships, and it's home to the Boomerang 2-Man tournament.

The practice setup is a big part of the appeal: the city calls the range one of the largest in Northern Colorado, and there's a large putting green, a smaller chipping green and the Mike Lee 9 short course on site. The Outback Restaurant and Pub handles the after-round. Through fall 2026 the city is dredging the pond on the 4th, building a pump station and then upgrading the front-nine irrigation, so expect some work on the front side.

It's one of 3 courses in Greeley on Yoink, and the closest alternative is Highland Hills Golf Course, about 2 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
