About Dryden Park Golf Course

Dryden Park is the City of Modesto's course along the Tuolumne River, and it plays like a traditional parkland round: wide fairways lined with mature pines and oaks, medium-sized greens, and small bunkers guarding them. It's par 72, from 5,900 yards on the red tees to 6,574 on the blues (70.9 rating, 122 slope).

The trees do most of the defending. The map survey counts 17 of the 18 holes as tree-lined, the river running along four of them, water on only two, about 50 bunkers, and roughly 28 feet of elevation change, so it's flat and easy on the legs. Course character from OpenStreetMap contributors' survey data.

The city owns it and KemperSports runs it. There's a driving range, two practice putting greens, a full-service golf shop and a restaurant, and Modesto Bee readers voted it the best golf course in their 2017 Readers Choice awards.

It's one of 2 courses in Modesto on Yoink, and the closest alternative is Creekside Golf Course, about 4 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
