About Creekside Golf Course
Creekside is Modesto's newer city course, opened in 1991 and built by Jack Daray Jr. and Stephen Halsey, the pair best known for the River Course at Alisal. It's parkland golf with three lakes, contoured bunkers, big tees and narrow fairways, and the greens are the story: fast and expansive, which is why the course pitches itself at the better player.
It's a par 72 that tops out at 6,610 yards from the blues (71.3 rating, 124 slope), with white, combo and red tees at 6,021, 6,309 and 5,496. Not long, but the narrow fairways make you hit it straight. The map survey has water near five holes and nine doglegs, most of them bending right, with trees along half the holes. Course character from OpenStreetMap contributors' survey data.
The City of Modesto owns it and KemperSports runs it, alongside sister course Dryden Park. The two courses share the annual Modesto City Championship. There's a fenced driving range, a big practice green, a golf shop and a full-service restaurant.
It's one of 2 courses in Modesto on Yoink, and the closest alternative is Dryden Park Golf Course, about 4 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
