About Butterfield Golf Course
Butterfield is the Town of Wellton's municipal course, and every hole is a par 3. The whole thing is about 2,700 yards, so it's a short-iron day and an easy walk. The town itself calls it the perfect course to walk.
The two nines play differently. The front goes around several ponds, and the back is gently sloping and lined with trees. The Gila Mountains are all around, and the town's own page mentions the pink sunrises and orange sunsets.
There's a driving range and putting green, and the pro shop rents handcarts, bags and clubs, and carts. Kids 17 and under play free, which makes it a good place to take a young golfer.
It's one of 6 courses Yoink watches in the Yuma area, and the closest alternative is Coyote Wash Golf Course, about 2 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
