About Southern Hills Golf Course
Southern Hills is the public course in Hot Springs, down at the southern end of the Black Hills, and the setting is the draw: pine views all the way around. It's a par 70, so it isn't a long, punishing day, more a relaxed 18 where the scenery does a lot of the work.
The Rapid City Journal named it Best of the Black Hills in 2019. The clubhouse makes sandwiches and has snacks and beer, and there's a practice area with range balls if you want to warm up.
It's one of 8 courses Yoink watches in the Rapid City & the Black Hills area, and the closest alternative is Rocky Knolls Golf Course, about 23 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
