About North Park Golf Course - North Park

North Park is one of the two county courses Allegheny County planned in December 1928 for its new North and South Parks, which landscape architect Paul B. Riis laid out as a people's country club, a public answer to the private clubs of the day. The course was dedicated on June 26, 1931, and it's still county golf: par 72, a practice range and a blacktop cart path.

The ground is what people remember. When the 1965 National Public Links came here and drew 150 players from around the country, the course was known for narrow fairways, blind shots and tricky greens. Lake Marshall, a reservoir in the park, was finished by New Deal crews in 1935 partly to water the course.

It's one of 2 courses in Wexford on Yoink, and North Park Golf Course - Back 9 Only is practically next door — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
