About Caledonia Golf Club
Caledonia is a short, old-fashioned mountain-country course: 5,154 yards from the back tees, par 68, rating 67.1 and slope 118. It sits in the Michaux State Forest just south of US 30, next to Caledonia State Park, and Pennsylvania's DCNR counts it as one of the two public golf courses in Pennsylvania state parks. The state calls it the oldest and one of the most scenic courses in southcentral Pennsylvania.
At that length it's a course where you'll hit plenty of irons off the tee, and the club pitches it as a challenge for all levels. The club says it recently opened the course up and improved playability. There are public leagues on Monday mornings and Thursday evenings (nine holes stay open on league days), daily specials for seniors, veterans, first responders and juniors, and night golf for groups.
It's one of 26 courses Yoink watches in the Harrisburg & Central PA area, and the closest alternative is Caledonia Golf Course, about 3 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
