About Avalon at Buhl Park
Avalon at Buhl Park is one of the four courses in the Avalon group run with The Grand Resort, alongside Avalon Lakes, Squaw Creek and the Field Club at New Castle. It's a classic country club course that's been around for more than 100 years, and it isn't long: 5,450 to 6,369 yards depending on the tees.
The length is not where the trouble is. The greens are quick and well guarded, and the club itself says Buhl Park may be its hardest course from the member tees. The round ends on the hole everyone remembers, the 18th, a par 3 with water all around the green that can stretch to 220 yards. Save a good long iron for last.
It's one of 13 courses Yoink watches in the Erie & Northwest PA area, and the closest alternative is Tam O'Shanter Golf Course, about 3 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
