OGA Golf Course

The Oregon Golf Association's own course: a Bill Robinson design through marsh, rolling hills and a hazelnut orchard, built to host state championships.

About OGA Golf Course

This is the state association's home course. The Oregon Golf Association owns and runs it, one of only six amateur associations in the country with a for-profit public course, and it was built so the OGA and the junior association had somewhere to hold their championships. Between them they run more than 100 days of competition a year, so check the club calendar before you plan a round.

Bill Robinson routed it through marsh, rolling hills, little valleys and a hazelnut orchard. Water is in play on plenty of the course tour's holes, including Robinson's own favorite, the par-5 4th, which a hazard splits 215 yards from the green. The greens have tiers worth checking the pin on, and the 9th ends at a big double green. In summer the prevailing wind comes out of the northwest, and the course tells you to club up into it on 12.

It's about 30 miles south of downtown Portland. There's a full practice area, the Orchards Grill, and year-round junior and adult programs.

It's one of 52 courses Yoink watches in the Portland area, and the closest alternative is Langdon Farms Golf Club, about 10 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
