About Muskogee Golf Club

Muskogee Golf Club is a traditional tree-lined course: undulating fairways, narrow in places, with several water hazards and bentgrass greens. It's a par 71 at 6,729 yards. The course record is a 59 by Bob Dickson, a Muskogee amateur who starred at Oklahoma State, and Marlene Hagge holds the women's record at 68.

The club was founded on March 10, 1903, as the Muskogee Town and Country Club, and in the summer of 1907 the members bought the 100-acre Garland farm where the course still sits, which the club says makes it the oldest course in Oklahoma still on its original site. Leslie Brownlee, a Scottish pro from Fort Smith, laid out nine holes with sand greens, and Bill Nichols of Edinburgh, the first pro, had them open by May 1908. It went to 18 holes in 1911. Perry Maxwell redesigned it in 1924 and put in Bermuda greens, and the bentgrass came in 1936.

Donna Caponi won the U.S. Women's Open here in 1970, and the All Pro Tour has been coming since 2018. The clubhouse was renovated in 2015 and now has Maxwell's restaurant, an event space and a patio with a fire pit.
