Santa Ana Golf Club

Ken Killian and Ken Green's links-inspired desert course on the Rio Grande since 1991: eight lakes, Sandia Peak views and PGA of America events.

About Santa Ana Golf Club

Santa Ana sits on Santa Ana Pueblo north of Albuquerque, woven through the desert along the Rio Grande, with the Jemez Mountains to the west, the Sangre de Cristos to the north and 10,000-foot Sandia Peak right there to the east. Ken Killian and former PGA Tour player Ken Green designed it, and it opened in 1991. It's links-inspired: wide fairways, native grasses, subtle mounding and strategic bunkering, with eight lakes to keep you honest.

There are three nines, Tamaya, Cheena and Star, played as three 18-hole combinations. Tamaya/Cheena is the stiffest from the black tees (75.1 rating, 134 slope); Star/Tamaya is the gentlest (72.9 and 129). It's daily fee, and one fee covers the whole day.

This is PGA of America country. With sister course Twin Warriors, Santa Ana has hosted the PGA Professional Championship several times, including the televised 2023 edition, and it was one of the host venues for the 2022 Senior PGA Professional event. After the round there's the Wind Dancer Bar and Grill, or the Prairie Star Restaurant and Wine Bar.

It's one of 2 courses in Santa Ana Pueblo on Yoink, and Twin Warriors Golf Club is practically next door — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
