The resort calls the land basin and ridge: the 3rd and the run from 12 through 17 sit down in a treeless hollow that feels like the resort's Ballyowen, while the rest has the multi-level feel of the Crystal Springs course. The par-3 14th looks out over the whole basin and asks for a long iron into a deep green.

The hole people talk about is the 7th, a par 3 of up to 208 yards over a quarry lake to a well-guarded green. The fairways are wide and the greens only moderately contoured, but many of the par 4s have small aprons, so a missed approach finds trouble fast.
