About Holmes Golf Course
Holmes is one of the City of Lincoln's courses, built in the early 1960s on gradual hills beside Holmes Lake. The lake is the backdrop for much of the round, and the driving range looks straight out over the water, so it's a good place to hit balls even when you're not playing.
It has a place in Nebraska golf history: the first Nebraska Junior Amateur was played here in 1968, and Omaha's Bob Swahn won it.
It's one of 8 courses in Lincoln on Yoink, and Jim Ager Golf Course is practically next door — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
