Sunday River is the ski resort's summer course, five miles from Bethel on a northwest-facing hillside in Newry. Robert Trent Jones Jr. routed it through steep slopes and deep ravines and used stone retaining walls to build level fairway terraces, most of them hidden. It opened in 2005, and Jones came back to walk it in 2023.

Expect elevation changes on almost every shot,. The fairways are wide, but there are tiered greens, rock outcroppings, wetlands, a few forced carries and Merrill Creek. The 14th is a Redan. From the course you look across the Sunday River Valley to the Mahoosuc Range, Goose Eye Mountain and Old Speck, Maine's third-highest peak, and the architect's page says moose and bear turn up too.

It stretches to 7,051 yards from the Black tees, par 72, rated 75.3 with a 151 slope, so pick your tee honestly; the Blue tees are 6,447 and the Greens 4,906. BOYNE owns it, and the clubhouse restaurant, with its view of the Mahoosuc Range, is open to non-golfers.
