About Eagle Ridge Resort - North Course
The North is where Eagle Ridge started. Roger Packard designed it on his own, and it opened on July 4, 1977, seven years before his South Course and 20 before The General. It's the course on the property with the lake: elevated tees look out over Lake Galena and the countryside, the 402-yard 7th finishes at a green above the water, and the 8th is the one people remember, a downhill 165-yard par 3 whose tee shot crosses a corner of the lake with rock outcroppings around it.
Expect rolling, wooded ground more than length. GolfPass calls the 508-yard 5th a woodland bottleneck par 5, and notes the older Packard courses have more blind tee and approach shots than The General. The greens are large and don't break much, so the work is getting on them from uneven lies. It's par 72 and 6,884 yards from the Black tees (73.0 rating, 136 slope), with Gold at 6,402, White at 6,071 and Jade at 5,478.
The resort says all four of its courses, 63 holes in all, have been renovated back to their original architecture. The North shares the property with The General, the South and the nine-hole East Course.
