About Flint River Municipal Golf Course
Flint River Municipal is the City of Albany's golf course, run under the Recreation and Parks Department. The city describes it as a well-kept 18-hole course with elevated greens, so plan on hitting approaches up to the putting surfaces.
It hosts events beyond everyday play, such as the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA) State Golf Tournament. In 2024 the course held its first Member Guest, partly to show off the work underway: new cart paths, and painting and new equipment for the clubhouse. That came after a member survey the previous October in which players said the course was prone to flooding and that good tee times were hard to get.
It's one of 14 courses Yoink watches in the South Georgia area, and the closest alternative is Stonebridge Golf & Country Club, about 13 miles away — handy when your first choice is booked solid.
