About White Mountain Golf Course
White Mountain is Rock Springs' own course, run by the city's Parks and Recreation department as part of the Wataha Recreational Complex off Yellowstone Road. It's 27 holes, open daylight to dark in season. You get there from I-80 Exit 104: north on Elk Street, left on Yellowstone Road, right on Clubhouse Drive.
The clubhouse has a recently remodeled pro shop, a full-service restaurant, a snack shop and locker rooms. The range stays open until 8 p.m. in summer, so an after-work bucket is realistic, and PGA pro Aaron Allred gives lessons.
The season runs from late March to early November, daylight to dark, seven days a week, weather permitting. One quirk to know: from June 1 through Labor Day, the course, range and pro shop don't open until 10 a.m. on Mondays.
