About Nemadji Golf Course - South/North

Nemadji is Superior's city-owned 36-hole course, run by KemperSports, and North-South is the older of its two 18s. The first course here opened in the early 1930s; it stayed at 18 holes until a third nine came in 1984, and Roger Packard designed a fourth in 1991. Today you play either North-South or the newer East-West.

It's a Twin Ports course in every sense: a 2019 Wisconsin.golf piece put Minnesota golfers at about 60 percent of the rounds. The Duluth News Tribune has named it the area's best golf course six years running (as of March 2026). Every hole has five sets of tees, and the fairways are tree-lined. The season is short up here, as much as two months shorter than in southern Wisconsin, so the tee sheet fills.

Expect to be paired if you're not a foursome, and expect the 90-degree cart rule every day. Monday to Thursday the starting nines alternate, so you may go off the back. There's a range, a free three-hole Compass par-3 course for warming up or for beginners, and the Greens View Grille in the old clubhouse.
