About Texarkana Golf Ranch
The Golf Ranch sits on the southeast bank of Bringle Lake, a 600-acre reservoir, across from Texas A&M University Texarkana. It's a Fazio design from 2000, built by Hank Haney Golf, and it winds through tall pines with about 50 feet of elevation change. From the back tees it's a par 72 of more than 7,300 yards with a 76.6 course rating, which is a lot of golf; most players should move up. It has hosted AJGA junior events.
The map survey backs up the look: all 18 holes are tree-lined, water is in play on about half of them, with four forced carries, and there are around 40 bunkers. Most of the doglegs turn left. Course character from OpenStreetMap contributors' survey data.
Big changes are coming. The City of Texarkana traded the course land to A&M-Texarkana for 133 acres of university property, with the university set to take ownership in September 2026. It plans a comprehensive redesign, has committed to keeping the course open to the public, and will make it home to the Eagles golf teams and a new golf course management degree track. The course will close for a while during the work, and no timeline has been set.
