About The Willows Golf & Country Club - Kenton County Golf
The Willows is the harder half of Kenton County's public golf complex in Independence, next to the gentler Pioneer course. Dr. Michael Hurdzan designed it, it's a par 72, and the course pitches it as a longer test that rewards confident shots. Four sets of tees give you room to pick your fight.
Kenton County owns the courses and pays for capital work, and Indigo Sports, part of Troon, runs them. In May 2024 the Willows hosted an American Junior Golf Association tournament, and that year the county finished repaving the cart paths on several Willows holes. Carts are optional, and when you ride you stay on the 90-degree rule if the weather allows. There are no water stations out there, so bring your own; outside food and non-alcoholic drinks are allowed.
